AI Clinical Governance & Ethics

Principles, safety guardrails, and audit oversight established to guarantee patient safety, ethical data stewardship, and clinician primacy.

01

Non-Diagnostic & Decision-Support Rule

Mandatory Guardrail

AI models deployed across MEDSEK and Health Boat Foundation platforms strictly deliver clinical information structuring, differential screening checklists, and guideline retrieval. They do not autonomously formulate definitive medical diagnoses, issue prescription authorizations, or modify inpatient treatment orders without explicit validation by a registered medical practitioner.

02

Autonomous Emergency Red-Flag Interception

Automated Triage Override

Any query, symptom log, or vital stream exhibiting signs of acute coronary syndrome, stroke (FAST criteria), acute respiratory distress, severe hemorrhagic shock, or acute psychiatric crisis triggers an immediate emergency override. The system prioritizes instructions to contact emergency services (108/112) and alerts the on-duty hospital triage coordinator.

03

Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) Medical Review

Peer-Reviewed Quality Control

A randomized sample of 5% of all AI-generated clinical triage logs, along with 100% of flagged out-of-distribution queries, are reviewed weekly by a clinical ethics panel comprising medical specialists to monitor diagnostic grounding, factual accuracy, and clinical appropriateness.

04

Protected Health Information (PHI) Redaction

ABDM & DISHA Compliance

Before inference, incoming clinical records pass through an automated Named Entity Recognition (NER) scrubber that removes patient names, contact numbers, Aadhaar numbers, and addresses. Data is never cached on third-party commercial clouds, and all vector indexes use pseudonymized entity identifiers.

05

Vernacular Dialect Fairness & Bias Mitigation

Inclusivity Standard

Our language models are continuously evaluated across socio-economic, regional, and gender demographics to prevent demographic bias. Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithili, and other regional dialects undergo periodic acoustic and lexical calibration to ensure rural patients receive the exact same standard of care and respect.
